Yes, you heard it right: You can now control your smartphone with a temporary skin-friendly tattoo.
You can operate your smartphone and even share data via NFC using this technology, PhD students at the Michigan Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Labs have found out with the help of Microsoft Research.
A collaboration between them has produced DuoSkin, a temporary tattoo that can be used to operate smartphones with customised control.
MIT Media Labs has divulged some details about its latest innovation on its website but the technology will be exhibited at a wearables conference later this month. According to the website, DuoSkin lets people create “customised functional devices that can be attached directly on their skin.” So a user could wear this on their hand, and then set up functions on how best to control their phone.
