A 35-year-old man was arrested for taking photographs of a 19-year-old student at the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) office in Bangalore on Thursday.

According to reports, she was interning with a national television news channel and had come to the KSPCB on Church Street with a reporter for an interview with a Karnataka Lake Conservation and Development Authority official.

When the student and the TV crew were waiting in the reception area, she noticed that the man, who was sitting nearby, was taking pictures of her with his phone. She informed the TV crew, who confronted Senthil Kumar, an ex-army man who lives in Ramachandra Puram, snatched his phone and located the photos in it.

He claimed he was a journalist with a Tamil daily and attempted to intimidate the crew. They then went to a police station and lodged a complaint.

He was booked under IPC Section 509 (gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman). The Cubbon Park police have filed a case and are investigating.
