A 55-year-old Hong Kong man was found dead in a Bela Vista Villa holiday unit in Cheung Chau on Sunday after burning charcoal, in the second such case in three days.

The villa owner went to check on the man who had failed to check out from the 350 square foot flat, which was rented on Saturday, Ta Kung Pao reported on Monday.

The owner opened the door with a spare key, found the man unconscious on a bed next to a plate of burnt charcoal and called the police.
