Multiple senior US law enforcement officials are saying that Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock wired US$100,000 to the Philippines last week. The destination is the home country of Marilou Danley, who has been reported by various news outlets, citing investigators, as being Paddock’s live-in girlfriend.

Law enforcement sources reportedly believe the two started dating last spring and have been living together in Mesquite, Nevada. Investigators do not currently believe Danley was involved in the incident.

PhilStar Global reports that Danley arrived in the Philippines on September 25, a week before the shooting, according to the local immigration officials.

Other reports said Danley was on vacation in Japan at the time of the shooting.

The motive for the worst mass-shooting incident in modern US history remains a mystery, investigators say. Law enforcement officials have repeatedly stressed there is no evidence to support claim of responsibility from ISIS, which said that Paddock had recently converted to Islam. Paddock’s brother insisted that the shooter had no strong religious or political affiliation.

US officials have also denied rumors that surfaced immediately following the massacre claiming that Paddock formerly served in the military.
