A 35-year-old Filipino working in a factory in Malaysia died after his head got caught in a casting machine on Wednesday morning. At  7:10am, the man was found dead in a factory that produces metal machinery parts in the Bukit Minyak industrial zone in Penang state.

Paramedics arrived shortly after the accident and pronounced the victim dead on the spot, Singapore’s New Straits Times reported.

At 7:28am, the fire department arrived to remove the victim’s head from the machine. Eight firemen were deployed, China Press reported.

A spokesman from the fire station said the body was handed over to police for further action. The retrieval operation was wound up at  9:53am.

The media reports did not explain how the accident happened or provide more details about the victim.

The police are investigating the case.
