As growing trade tensions between Washington and Beijing reduced investors’ appetite for risk, global stocks dropped at the start of the week.

The Stoxx Europe 600 was 0.8% lower in early European trade, pulled down by stocks in Germany and France. This was mirrored in a similarly downbeat session in Asia.

Futures pointed to opening losses of 0.5% for the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.6%.
