A 50-year-old Indian man was arrested for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old Indian girl in Admiralty on Hong Kong Island on Monday and two others were detained for allegedly assaulting the man.

At 8pm on Monday, the girl told her 47-year-old father that an Indian man who had just walked past them molested her as they were walking along Queensway, the Oriental Daily reported.

The angry father stopped the man and questioned him, but the man denied touching the girl. The two men started arguing and then started fighting. The man accused of molesting the girl tried to escape when he overheard an onlooker calling the police. However, he failed to get away as another Indian man passing by blocked his way.

A tussle then broke about between the three men before police arrived. All three were arrested. The accused, who suffered injuries to his hands and buttocks, was arrested and charged with molesting the girl, while the father and the passer-by were arrested and charged with common assault.

The Crime unit of the Western Police Station is following up.
