A 22-year-old man was charged with first-degree murder over the killing of a Filipino nurse in her home at Torrens Avenue in Toronto, Canada.

At 2:15am on May 26, Rhoderie Estrada, 41, was found unresponsive in her bedroom. The police said she suffered from obvious signs of trauma, Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

During their initial investigation, the police believed Estrada was killed by an unknown person who entered the house through a side window on the night of May 25.

The police did not disclose the cause of death.

The police arrested Yostin Murillo earlier this month. Murillo’s nationality was not disclosed and it was reported that he had no fixed address. According to the police, there was no prior relationship between Murillo and the victim.
