A 44-year-old Hong Kong woman was arrested in Citiplaza Four shopping mall on Tuesday after she allegedly shot her four uncles and aunties with a gun due to a money-related family dispute.

Police received a report at about 3pm that four people, aged between 60 and 80, were injured after gunshots were heard at Quarry Bay Park in Taikoo Shing on Hong Kong Island, RTHK reported.

Two of the injured were shot by bullets to the head. One man had his hand injured while a woman suffered a shoulder injury, according to police, who conducted a preliminary investigation. The four victims are siblings and were believed to have been shot by their niece.

Prior to the incident, the four were said to have met in a restaurant to discuss a heritage issue but failed to reach a compromise.

The victims were sent to Eastern Hospital, two were in a critical condition.

The police seized a pistol, which was believed to be the weapon used in the incident, plus about 40 bullets from the woman arrested. Dozens of police were rushed to Citiplaza. Police investigations are ongoing.
