A domestic worker killed a snake shortly after it bit her elderly employer on the toe at The Peak on Hong Kong Island on Saturday.

At 11am, the 63-year-old woman and her domestic worker were walking along Plunkett’s Road on The Peak, Sing Tao Daily reported. A  45-centimeter long snake suddenly came out from the brush and bit the woman on the toe of her right foot.

The domestic worker immediately hit the snake with a stick and killed it. She then called police. The woman started feeling numb around her feet and paramedics arrived and sent her to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment, Apple Daily reported.

A policeman found the dead snake at the scene and sent it to the government laboratory. Media reports did not say what type of snake was involved.
