A Filipino domestic worker allegedly committed suicide by jumping from her employer’s home in Kuwait. According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the domestic worker, whose identity was not disclosed, reportedly jumped from the third floor of her employer’s residence in Sabahiya, Kuwait, on Tuesday, PTV News reported.

The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait was coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities in the investigation. The DFA said it had contacted the victim’s next of kin in the Philippines and would offer assistance in the repatriation of her remains.

The domestic worker’s death comes after another case of a Filipina falling to her death in the United Arab Emirates last week.

Last week, a 22-year-old Filipino worker in Ajman died after falling from the third floor of a building. It was not known if it was a suicide or accident. The Philippines Consulate General in Dubai was coordinating with authorities in investigating her death and repatriating her remains.
