A 12-year-old girl jumped to her death at a public housing estate in Wong Tai Sin, Hong Kong, on Sunday.

At 4pm, when a removal van was parked near Wing Sin House of Upper Wong Tai Sin Estate, a loud bang was heard coming from the roof of the truck, Oriental Daily reported.

When workers checked, they found a girl lying on top of the truck. They immediately called the police.

The girl surnamed Ng was unconscious when police officers and paramedics got her down from the truck. She was rushed to hospital but later pronounced dead.

Police were unable to find a suicide note, but did learn that the girl had argued with her family before the incident. Investigations will continue.
