A photograph taken by a Vietnamese man gained an honorable mention at the Siena International Photography Awards 2018. The photo – a flycam shot taken by photographer Pham Huy Trung –was taken in a flooded melaleuca forest in the Dong Thap province in the Mekong Delta, VN Express reported.

Pham’s work was given an honorable mention in the category of “Journeys and Adventures” at the Siena awards.

Trung, from Hanoi, often travels around Vietnam to capture landscapes and various cultural features. National Geographic Magazine has also featured his work from time to time. In 2017, Trung won first prize in SkyPixel, one of the most popular competitions for aerial photography in the world.

Almost 48,000 entries from 56 countries were sent to The Sign International Photo Awards this year, with photos contesting the Urban, Nature, People, Animals and Journey & Adventures categories.
