The Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany hosted a gathering for Vietnamese intellectuals in Berlin to ask them for their help in promoting Vietnam’s development.

At the get-together, Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung spoke to professors, scientists and students from different academic institutions in Germany, Vietnam Plus reported.

Hung told intellectuals that their country has always paid attention to their work and created the best conditions possible for them. He added that the Vietnamese who have become successful in Germany have a “soft power” that could be mobilized to help develop Vietnam.

Scientists at the gathering also shared their experiences in securing funding for their research and application projects.

Participants at the event also agreed to establish a board that will prepare for the formation of the Vietnamese Intellectuals’ Association in Germany.
