A Filipino-American representing the Philippines placed third runner-up in this year’s Manhunt International pageant. The contest took place on Sunday on Australia’s Gold Coast.
Jeff Langan, 25, made it to the top five in the pageant, which began in 1988 and is the world’s most recognized and longest-running international male model competition, Manila Bulletin reported.
Langan was joined in the top five by contestants from Australia, the Netherlands, Vietnam and Spain. Vicent Llorach of Spain won the overall title, beating out 32 contestants.
Australia placed first runner-up, the Netherlands took second runner-up and Vietnam placed fourth runner-up after the Philippines.
The Filipino-American said he had his first taste of modelling when he did a commercial for Long Beach Memorial Hospital when he was just a baby. Langan began modelling professionally when he turned 18.
Langan was trained by pageant mentor and talent manager Jonas Gaffud in preparation for the event. Gaffud congratulated Langan and the other winners on his Instagram page.
June Macasaet is currently the only Filipino to have won the Manhunt International pageant. He took top place in 2012.
