Two Filipinos were among the 11 people injured in a serious traffic accident on Monday afternoon in which four people were killed in North Point on Hong Kong Island.

The Filipinos, a 50-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman, were taken to hospital in a conscious state and not seriously hurt, sunwebhk.com reported.

An officer from the Police Public Relations Branch said the Filipinos were both Hong Kong ID-card holders. One was sent to Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai and the other to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan.

News website HK01.com named the two injured Filipinos as Velasco X AJR and Salvador X Nim.

Consul Paulo Saret, head of the assistance to nationals section at the Consulate in Hong Kong, said his office had been informed by police that two Filipinos were among the injured.

The accident happened when an empty school bus rolled downhill and mowed down a crowd of pedestrians at the junction of King’s Road and Hei Wo Street in North Point.

Four people were killed and 11 injured.
