A Filipino domestic worker has been fired and repatriated after being caught with her boyfriend inside her employer’s home in Saudi Arabia.

Last week, Sheila (not her real name), 24, allowed her boyfriend into the house while her employers were at work. However, her employer returned home shortly after leaving as he had forgotten something, GMA News reported.

The employer immediately reported the incident to the police and the Filipina’s recruitment agency, who convinced the employers to drop the case against Sheila and promised to send a new domestic worker.

The recruitment agency then reported the incident to the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO). According to Labor Attache Nasser Munder, the domestic worker met her boyfriend through Facebook and frequently brought him inside the house while her employers were at work.

Munder reminded Filipinos in Saudi Arabia to respect local culture as it is against the law in Saudi Arabia for unmarried people to be together under the same roof. With the help of POLO and the domestic worker’s employment agency, Sheila was repatriated to the Philippines earlier this week.
