A large king cobra overpowered a python in a fight to the death in Thailand on Christmas Day and swallowed it whole as a group of tourists watched.

On December 25, the two snakes were spotted locked in battle at the Khao Lampi-Hat Thai Mueang National Park in Phang Nga province, the Mirror reported. The fight, which was recorded and uploaded to the internet, saw the python try to wrap itself around the highly venomous cobra. In the end, the cobra bit the python.

As the python succumbed to the deadly venom, blood could be seen coming out of its mouth. Eventually, the cobra swallowed the entire python.

Chachi Chamnikarn, a local wildlife ranger, had taken the tourists on a tour of the park. He said he had seen snakes eat different types of animals, but not other snakes. He added that the incident was natural and showed the snake’s struggle for survival.

The king cobra is the longest venomous snake in the world. Its venom can kill victims within 30 minutes. It is also been identified as a cannibalistic snake that will eat other snakes when it needs to.
