A young boy was caught on a security camera last month blowing up a manhole in a sidewalk in Inner Mongolia, sending bricks and paving stones flying, and fortunately there were no injuries.

At about 7:09 pm on January 30, the eight-year-old boy was seen dropping lit fireworks through the manhole in Chifeng City before the explosion, the Daily Mail reported. The explosion sent white smoke and sent bricks flying everywhere. After the explosion, the boy was seen running and shouting for his mother. Authorities say methane from a sewer was ignited by the firecracker, which caused the large explosion.

While no injuries were reported, the explosion damaged three vehicles. Local media reports indicated police would not press charges due to the boy’s age. Compensation for the damaged vehicles would be negotiated between the car owners and the boy’s parents.
