Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam are on the hunt for two thieves on a motorcycle whose photograph was taken at the very moment they snatched a handbag from a tourist.

On February 3, 40-year-old Le Lam Bao Tran was taking photos with her family in central Ho Chi Minh City when two men passing on a motorcycle snatched her handbag and rode away, VN Express reported. The bag reportedly contained S$2,000 (US$1,480) in cash, credit cards and identification documents.

One of the victim’s relatives took a photograph that captured the moment the handbag was snatched. A report has since been filed with local police. The photo may help authorities catch the thieves.

Tran, who had gone to the city from Singapore to celebrate the Lunar New Year festival, said she could not react in time as things happened so quickly. Bag snatching on motorcycles is a well-known hazard in Ho Chi Minh City, with a majority of the victims being tourists.
