At least three Vietnamese workers died when a fire destroyed a cargo warehouse in Taoyuan, Taiwan, on Wednesday. At about 10 am on February 6, a fire burned through the second floor of a Kerry Logistics warehouse in Guanyin district, VN Express reported.

Some witnesses said they heard an explosion before the fire started. The local fire department deployed hundreds of firefighters to handle the blaze. Two Vietnamese migrant workers were pulled from the fire, with one 30-year-old pronounced dead at the scene.

The following day, the bodies of two Vietnamese workers were found. Sources reported that flammable alcohol stored on the second floor may have fuelled the fire.

There have been a series of factory accidents in Taiwan, raising concerns about safety standards in the country.
