A traffic accident in Vietnam in which a driver was suspected of being high on methamphetamines saw a car ram into five motorcycles and two other vehicles, injuring at least five people.
On March 14, a Toyota Altis heading towards the city enter of Da Lat first hit a sedan and then hit five motorcyles and a taxi, VN Express reported. The car only came to a complete halt after ramming an electricity pole.
The unnamed driver of the crashed car remained in the vehicle before police arrived at the scene and took him away. Reports say the man was rambling to himself, and appeared unsteady on his feet.
Da Lat’s chief police officer, Nguyen Van Hung, said the man showed signs of having used methamphetamines. He added that the driver also bit a police officer when he was being arrested.
The injured were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities are continuing to investigate the case.
