A missing person’s notice involving a three-year-old Chinese-Vietnamese girl whose parents were separated was circulated online by her Chinese father after she was last seen with her Vietnamese mother at her home in Johor, Malaysia, last Saturday.

The girl’s parents divorced last year and the court granted custody of the child to the father, while the mother was permitted to visit her daughter once a month, the China Press reported.

On May 25, the girl’s birthday, the woman asked to see her daughter for a celebration and the father agreed and took the girl to the mother’s house in Taman Nusa Bestari Jaya, Skudai, at about 6 pm.

While he was sitting in the living room, the woman left with the girl through a back door. The man could not contact his former wife and was worried she had taken their child to Vietnam.

He posted an appeal online for information on his daughter, who was last seen wearing a pink dress. Any person who could assist the father reunite with the girl would be rewarded with 5,000 ringgit (US$1,193).
