A young Filipino-American boy has become one of the youngest authors in the United States and the Philippines after publishing his own book.

Six-year old Jan Quintos, a kindergarten student at Watsessing School in Bloomfield, New Jersey, published a book entitled “I Am Jan Alexander”, which was written and illustrated by the author himself, Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

The book has three short stories that Quintos wrote himself, with illustrations on every page. According to the boy’s parents, Alex and Ethel Quintos, their son dedicated his book to his older brother who has autism.

The three stories are titled “A Day in School”, “The Kid Goes on Vacation” and “The Kid Got Lost in the Zoo”. At the end of each story, there is a lesson exercise for the reader.

On April 28, Quintos hosted a book signing at Barnes & Nobles in Clifton. Quintos’ school announced the event on their website, inviting people to the book signing.

“Jan has been sharing his stories with his fellow classmates and other classrooms here at Watsessing. We are all so proud and excited for him we had to share the great news,” Quintos’ school said in their website.

The young writer also managed to sell 28 copies of his book at a recent book fair in East Orange. His book is also available on paperback on Amazon.
