A woman has jumped to her death in a shopping mall in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.
The victim, identified as CV, jumped from the fourth floor of a mall in the Pluit area on May 3, The Jakarta Post reported. According to Penjaringan Police head Mustakim, she was rushed to the RSCM Hospital in Central Jakarta but was dead on arrival due to injuries from the fall.
Mustakim said CV was at a fast food restaurant with her family when she excused herself to go to the washroom. After 30 minutes, she had still not returned. She was then seen stepping onto the railing on the fourth floor and jumping. Her family only found out about the incident after they saw a crowd gather.
According to Mustakim, CV may have committed suicide because of private matters that have not been made public. The police are questioning her family and witnesses.
