A court in Vietnam has found two men guilty of drug trafficking and sentenced them to death.
In October 2018, Tran Xuan Thanh, 31, and 42-year-old Vo Quoc Duong were caught with 32 kilograms of methamphetamine and 10 packs of heroin weighing 350 grams each at the border with Laos in the Ha Tinh Province, VN Express reported.
Tran reportedly bought the drugs from a woman in Laos and agreed to carry the drugs over the border for 50 million dong (US$2,100.) The two men were caught when they entered Vietnam on a bus from Laos.
Vietnam has become a trafficking hub for drugs from Laos, Thailand and Myanmar, which together form what is known as the Golden Triangle, a major drug producing area.
